Two New Signings In One Day!?
Ok, ok, calm down! It's not entirely as first seems...but you'll love the quote at the end once you've read the entire article!
Dolce & Gabbana have signed a three year agreement with Chelsea to produce the official suits and design the stadium area for our beloved club. The Italian designers are known to be ardent fans of football and already work with AC Milan and also the Italian national team. This deal marks their first foray with a club in England for the world-reknowned company - Chelsea are making history again!
The financial implications of the arrangement have not been revealed yet. As per the deal, the Chelsea team, including Carlo himself, will wear blue suits with two-button jackets paired with blue jacquard ties - designed exclusively by D&G.
Dolce & Gabbana, who had wholesale sales of EUR 1.379 billion is the last fiscal year, will also be working with the design of some exclusive areas in Chelsea`s Stamford Bridge stadium.
In an official statement the designers said, 'We are big football fans, for us it means healthy competition, intense passion and great discipline. Chelsea are the best team in England so it makes sense to partner with them and not anyone else.'
I love that last sentence :)

Arsenal Close to Sealing £23m Player Swap Deal: Wenger Interested In Clichy for Melo Exchange
Juventus are reportedly set to raid Arsenal for Gael Clichy, with Felipe Melo being used as bait to persuade the Gunners to sell.
According to the Italian press, the Bianconeri’s management team have indentified their defence as the main focus for reinforcement, and Clicy is understood to be a target.
Arsenal, however, will be reluctant to part with the French left-back, but Goal.com reports that Juve have told the Londoners that they can sign Melo on a cut-price deal if they agree to the sale of Clichy.
Brazilian ace, Melo, has gained a reputation as a no-nonsense holding midfielder during his time in Serie A – initially with Fiorentina – and could provide Arsene Wenger with the added tenacity he needs to turn Arsenal into champions once more.
Despite the Italians prepared to do business regarding the 27-year-old former Mallorca man, they will still expect the Gunners to cough up in excess of £8 million – plus Clichy – to land their target.
This may be put Wenger off any a deal, especially after the emergence of Alex Song last season as a potentially worthy successor to former Arsenal defensive midfielder Gilberto Silva. (Give Me Football – Official PFA Website)
Reports linking French International Gael Clichy with a move away from the Emirates are becoming very common place and some sources state that the full back wants to leave for a new challenge. Given that the north London club have a ready made replacement in Kieron Gibbs must enter Wenger’s thinking on this deal.
The Arsenal boss is known to be a big admirer of the Brazilian midfielder Felipe Melo who could be the ideal man to give the Gunners a solid feel in the centre of their midfield. Alex Song had a good season last term but the experienced Juventus man may be a good option to pick up.
Wenger may be thinking of playing two steely players to offer Cesc Fabregas extra protection. The deal would end up costing around £23m in total, the source above believes that Arsenal would have to hand chunk of cash on top of Clichy to seal the signing of £15m rated Melo.

Arsenal interest in Dutch attacking midfielder Ibrahim Afellay
Arsenal weigh up swoop for Dutch midfielder Ibrahim AfellayJuly 30,2010
Arsene Wenger is mulling over an attempt to bring Dutch attacking midfielder Ibrahim Afellay to Arsenal.
The 24-year-old is in the final year of his contract with PSV Eindhoven , where he has played for his entire career. PSV have hit some financial problems and may be reluctant to risk seeing their prize asset leave for next to nothing towards the end of his current deal.
Afellay has excellent technique and is a very creative attacking force through the middle or from out wide. He made three substitute appearances for Holland during this summer’s World Cup.
According to The Sun, Arsenal are considering a bid and would be expected to shell out at least £7million to bring Afellay to the Emirates Stadium where he would link up with fellow Dutchman Robin van Persie .
The player’s agent, Rob Jansen admitted a move is possible, saying, "It's possible Ibrahim will want to stay at PSV but there is a chance of a move elsewhere.
"In football, you never know. There are teams interested in him for sure."
Arsenal boss Wenger has made two significant signings so far this summer in centre-back Laurent Koscielny and striker Marouane Chamakh .
